Software developer for California small businesses: ADU builders, modular homes and bilingual shops
I build websites, custom software and 3D configurators for California small businesses, working remotely from Buenos Aires in English and Spanish. Argentina is four to five hours ahead of California depending on the time of year, so your morning is my afternoon.

If you run a small business in California and need a website, custom software or a 3D configurator that lets customers design what you sell, I can build it for you remotely from Buenos Aires, Argentina, in English or Spanish. Argentina is four to five hours ahead of California depending on the time of year, so your morning is my afternoon and we share a good part of every workday.
This is for the owner who's thinking about hiring a developer outside the US and wants to know how it actually works: which kinds of businesses get the most out of it, how the hours line up, and what you still need to check with someone local.
Where custom software pays off in California
California has every kind of business, but there are three I fit especially well.
ADU and modular home builders. Backyard ADUs have become a normal purchase, and buyers show up with a long list of questions: will it fit on my lot, how many bedrooms, which finishes, can I move the kitchen? A 3D configurator lets them design their own unit before they call you, and you get a request with real sizes and options instead of “how much for a backyard home?”. I go deeper in modular home configurators in the US.
Businesses with customers in English and Spanish. Contractors, auto shops, clinics, neighborhood stores. Plenty of them serve customers in both languages, but the website only speaks one. A proper bilingual site, with each language on its own address, can show up in Google for both. I explain how in bilingual websites for small businesses.
Service companies that live on estimates. Solar installers, kitchen remodelers, flooring and landscaping crews. Every estimate is built by hand, and a lot of site visits go nowhere. A quote tool on the website does the first round of filtering before anyone gets in the truck.
What changes, business by business
| Business | What happens today | What I'd build |
|---|---|---|
| ADU builder | Vague inquiries asking for a ballpark | A 3D configurator: buyers design their unit and you get a spec sheet with sizes and options |
| Bilingual shop | English-only site, half the calls come in Spanish | A site in both languages, each with its own address and its own Google listing |
| Installer or remodeler | Site visits to price jobs that never happen | An online estimate with photos and measurements first, the visit only when there's real interest |
| Business with several locations | Prices and hours that differ and go out of date | Your own admin dashboard to update everything in one place |
How the hours work with the West Coast
Argentina stays on UTC−3 all year and California switches for daylight saving, so the gap is four or five hours. When it's 9 a.m. in Los Angeles or San Jose, it's early afternoon for me. Calls go in your morning, and nobody has to stay up late.
The rest of the day works in your favor. What you send me in your afternoon is waiting for me first thing the next day, hours before you're back at your desk, so changes are often ready to review when you open your email.
How a project runs from start to finish
We start with a video call where you show me how you work today: the estimate you send, photos of your models, the spreadsheet with your sizes and options. From that I put together a proposal in phases and a quote for your project.
Then you follow progress through a link you open on your phone, leave comments and approve each phase before I move on. We talk on WhatsApp or email. At the end you get the website, system or configurator up and running, with an admin dashboard so you can run it yourself. I work on my own, so you always talk to the person doing the work. If you're still weighing options, read hiring a nearshore developer for US small businesses.
A demo you can try: Estructuras 3D
Estructuras 3D is my own demo: a 3D configurator for metal buildings, carports, horse stalls and modular homes. On the modular home, buyers change the floor plan, the size and the materials, look at it inside and out, and ask for a quote. It runs in English at render.facundocampo.com.ar/en, and its blog has a piece on modular home and ADU configurators in the US.
It isn't a California client. It's the base I use to show a builder what theirs would look like, with their own models and rules.
See Estructuras 3DWhat you'll want to check locally
California has its own rules on customer data, and ADUs depend on what each city or county allows. I can add notes like “check with your city before you buy” to a configurator, or ask for a ZIP code to filter what's offered, but what each rule actually says has to come from a local professional. Same with sales tax and invoicing: ask your accountant, and I'll set the system up the way they tell you.
Frequently asked questions
How do we work with a four to five hour difference?
Calls go in your morning, which is my afternoon. Whatever you send during your day, I pick up early the next morning, so it's often ready to review when you start. The exact gap depends on the time of year.
Can you build the site in English and Spanish?
Yes. I write and work in both languages, and the site can have both versions, each on its own address so Google shows the right one. For any other language, you'd bring the copy.
Do you build configurators for ADU and modular home builders?
Yes. My own demo, Estructuras 3D, lets buyers design a modular home, change the floor plan and finishes and request a quote. For your company it's built with your models, your sizes in feet and your rules.
What about California privacy and tax rules?
California has its own rules on customer data, and building rules vary by city and county. I set up the forms, notices and permissions you need, but check the legal and tax side with a local professional.
If you run a business in California and want a tool built around the way you work, message me on WhatsApp at +54 9 11 6193-3176 or email contacto@facundocampo.com.ar. I answer in English and Spanish and quote each project on its own. See what I do on [services](/en/servicios).
