Software developer for Madrid businesses: websites and systems for shops, professionals and service companies

Software developer for Madrid businesses: websites and systems for shops, professionals and service companies

If you're looking for a software developer for a business in Madrid, here's how I work: I build websites, custom software and apps remotely from Buenos Aires. We can work in Spanish or English, and your afternoon is my morning, so scheduling is easy.

In Madrid, almost any search turns up plenty of options a couple of metro stops away. So for a shop, a professional practice or a service company, the question isn't just “do I have a website?” but “can people find me, and is it easy to book or order?” Here's what tends to work for three kinds of Madrid business.

Neighborhood shops: competing with the store next door and with the internet

A boutique in Chamberí, a bookshop in Malasaña, a hardware store in Carabanchel or a health food shop in Lavapiés competes with the shop down the street and with big online retailers at the same time. Its edge is being close by: the neighbor wants to know if you have what they need before heading out.

You don't need a full online store for that. An online catalog without checkout with photos, availability and a WhatsApp button, plus a well-kept Google listing with hours and reviews, usually brings more people through the door than a store with a cart nobody uses. If you deliver in the neighborhood or to nearby towns, you can add ordering with local delivery zones.

Law firms and clinics: appointments without the phone

Law firms, tax advisors, dental clinics, physiotherapists and therapists in Salamanca, Chamartín or Retiro share the same problem: the phone rings while they're with someone, appointments go into a paper diary, and no-shows are discovered when the chair stays empty.

Online booking with automatic reminders fixes a lot of that: the client picks a slot, gets a reminder, and reschedules on their own if they need to. For a law firm, a client area for uploading documents also saves chasing attachments by email. I covered it in appointment reminder system and, by profession, in website for law firms and website for dentists.

Service companies: renovations, maintenance and cleaning

Renovation, installation, building maintenance and cleaning companies working across Madrid and nearby towns like Getafe, Alcobendas or Alcalá de Henares live on quotes. And quoting is exactly where time disappears: site visits to measure, a document put together by hand, and follow-up that depends on someone's memory.

Custom quoting software stores your line items and materials, builds the quote in minutes, sends it to the client and flags the ones still waiting on an answer. If you run crews, add work orders so you know who's going where each day. More in quoting software for contractors and work order management software.

Restaurants and developers: two separate cases

If you run a bar or restaurant, the digital menu is the first thing guests check at the table and on Google. I built the one for Boca de Lobo, a steakhouse in Buenos Aires: a QR menu with more than 250 items and a dashboard of their own to change prices, dishes and specials without calling anyone. The same works for a tapas bar.

And if you're a developer selling new homes off the plan on the edge of the city, buyers need to see the home before it exists. That's what Recorrido 3D is for; its blog has a piece on 3D renderings and walkthroughs in Madrid.

Working with me from Buenos Aires

Madrid is 4 or 5 hours ahead of Argentina, depending on the time of year. We meet over video in your afternoon, which is my morning, and whatever you tell me after lunch is ready for you to review from a link the next day.

We start with a call to understand your business, I send a written quote split into stages, and you sign off on each one before we move on. You provide photos, copy and how you work today; I hand over the website or system up and running, with a dashboard so you can manage it yourself. For cookies, data protection or invoicing, check with your gestoría (accounting advisor) or a local professional.

Frequently asked questions

What's the time difference between Madrid and Buenos Aires?

Madrid is 4 or 5 hours ahead, depending on the time of year. A 4 p.m. meeting in Madrid is 11 a.m. or noon for me, so your afternoon is my morning and we overlap every day.

Can we meet in person?

No, I work remotely from Buenos Aires. Everything happens over video calls, with progress you open from a link and everyday contact on WhatsApp or by email, and you sign off on each stage before we move on.

Will the website follow cookie and data protection rules?

The site can include a cookie banner, a privacy policy and forms with consent. The legal copy and what your line of business requires are worth reviewing with your gestoría or a lawyer; I put them in place the way they tell you.

Does it help if my business already has a WordPress site?

Yes. We can improve what you have or, if it's holding you back, move to a site of your own. We'll sort that out on the first call based on what you need the site to do.
