Software developer for Italian companies: furniture, kitchens and manufacturers

I build websites, custom software and 3D configurators for companies in Italy, remotely from Buenos Aires, in English or Spanish. It pays off most for furniture and kitchen makers, industrial firms that sell to other businesses, and producers who sell abroad.

Software developer for Italian companies: furniture, kitchens and manufacturers

If you run a company in Italy and want a software developer you can work with in English, here's how I do it: websites, custom software, apps and 3D configurators, built remotely from Buenos Aires. I work on my own, over video calls, and you follow progress from a link. I don't write Italian: if your site needs an Italian version, you or your translator provide the copy, and I build the site so both languages sit side by side.

Who is this a good fit for? Family-owned manufacturers that export, design studios that sell into other countries, and companies whose customers, importers or dealers already deal with them in English. Let's go industry by industry.

Furniture, kitchens and design: let the buyer build their version

Italy is famous for furniture and kitchen design, and much of it is made by mid-sized and family firms that sell through showrooms and dealers abroad. The pain point is familiar: a huge PDF catalog, more combinations of sizes, finishes and colors than anyone can show, and a dealer in another country who has to call the factory for every quote.

A custom furniture configurator lets the buyer pick dimensions, wood, lacquer or upholstery and see the result in 3D before ordering. For kitchens and wardrobes there's the kitchen and closet configurator. And if you sell through a dealer network, a dealer network 3D configurator has every dealer build the order with your rules, so it reaches you complete instead of as an email you have to decode.

Northern manufacturers: machinery, structures and prefab homes

Lombardy, Veneto and Emilia-Romagna are known for their dense network of small and mid-sized manufacturers: machinery, components, metalwork, structures. These companies sell to other companies, with technical catalogs and orders that still arrive by email or phone. What helps here is a B2B customer portal, where your customer checks their orders and reorders without writing to you, or custom business management software that replaces the spreadsheet only one person in the office understands.

If you build prefab homes, modules or timber structures, I wrote about 3D configurators for prefab homes in Italy on the Estructuras 3D blog: the buyer lays out the house (rooms, roof, finishes) and sends you an order with everything defined.

Wine, farm stays and products tied to a place

The other big side of Italian small business sells the place itself: wineries, olive oil producers, cheese and cured meat makers, and agriturismi (working farms that host guests). The customer is often a foreign visitor reading in English, or an importer who wants to see the range before asking for samples.

A bilingual website, with a properly written English version and your own Italian copy, is usually the first step. After that you might add bookings with live availability, a trade area for importers with spec sheets, or a catalog you update yourself when a new vintage comes out.

Real case

A real case: a manufacturer's 3D quote tool

I don't have clients in Italy, but I do have a project that looks a lot like what an Italian manufacturer needs. For EQUIBOX, a horse stall and barn manufacturer near Buenos Aires, I built their 3D configurator: the customer designs the barn (size, model, walls, accessories), downloads a PDF spec sheet and requests a quote over WhatsApp. The factory gets the order fully defined and its sales team follows up in their CRM. Swap horse stalls for kitchens or sofas and it's the same problem.

Working with me remotely from Italy

Italy is 4 to 5 hours ahead of Argentina, depending on the time of year. In practice, my morning is your afternoon: when it's 9 a.m. in Buenos Aires it's 1 or 2 p.m. in Milan, which leaves several shared hours for a video call without anyone getting up early. Anything you send me late in your day is answered by the time you're back at your desk.

The process: a first video call to understand your company, a written proposal, then progress you open from a link. You sign off on each stage before we move on. You send photos, your catalog, dimensions and the rules behind your products; you get the website, system or configurator up and running, with a dashboard so you can manage it yourself. I go through it step by step in working with a remote developer.

On the regulatory side, data protection, invoicing and accessibility have their own rules in Italy and across the EU. Check with a local professional; I build the software to fit whatever they tell you.

Frequently asked questions

Do you work in Italian?

No, I work in English and Spanish. If your site needs Italian, you or your translator provide the copy, and I build the site to carry every language you need, with a clear language switch.

How do we handle the time difference?

Italy is 4 to 5 hours ahead of Argentina, depending on the time of year. My mornings overlap with your afternoons, so that's when we schedule calls; everything else happens over WhatsApp or email.

Why hire someone in Argentina instead of in Italy?

You talk directly to the person writing the code, in English or Spanish, and we share several working hours every day. Judge me the way you'd judge any developer: real projects, how clearly I explain things and how I deliver progress.

Will the software comply with EU data protection rules?

I build it to meet whatever your advisor specifies: what data is stored, who can see it and how it gets deleted. For the exact rules that apply to your company, check with a local professional.

Your project

If you run a company in Milan, Turin, Bologna, Florence or anywhere else in Italy and want to see what we could build, message me on WhatsApp at +54 9 11 6193-3176 or email contacto@facundocampo.com.ar. I answer in English and Spanish, and I quote each project separately, so tell me what you need. You can also use the [contact page](/en/contacto).
