Software developer for Portugal: websites and systems for tourism, wine estates and small businesses
I build websites, custom software and 3D tools for businesses in Portugal remotely from Buenos Aires, working in English or Spanish. If your site needs Portuguese, you supply the copy and I build it so each language has its own version.

If you're looking for a software developer for a business in Portugal, here's how I work: I build websites, custom software and 3D tools remotely from Buenos Aires, in English or Spanish. If your site needs Portuguese, you supply the copy and I build it so each language has its own version.
That setup fits Portugal well. Many businesses there sell to visitors who read English, and more and more owners are foreigners who'd rather work in English anyway. Here's what different kinds of businesses usually need: guesthouses and tours, wine estates, real estate and manufacturers.
Stays and experiences: from Lisbon to the Algarve
Guesthouses in Alfama or Porto, registered holiday rentals in the Algarve (alojamento local, as they're called there), surf schools in Ericeira or Peniche, boat trips on the Douro or out of Lagos: almost all of them depend on platforms that keep the customer's contact.
A website of your own lets you win back past guests and sell directly to people who find you on Instagram. For an experience with limited spots (a surf lesson, a boat trip), a calendar of open dates and a form that asks just enough saves the back-and-forth. I covered it in website for small hotels and cabins. And if your customers read several languages, bilingual website for small business explains how to do it right.
Wine estates: visits, tastings and wine sales
In the Douro, the Alentejo or the Vinho Verde region, many quintas (wine estates) run two businesses at once: the wine they sell and the tasting visits they host. Bookings arrive by email, by phone and through agencies, and putting the week's schedule together is a puzzle.
A website that takes visit bookings by day and time, with the tour language and group size, sorts that out. If you also want to sell wine online to people who've already visited, a simple store can be added; I wrote about it in online store for wine shops. Rules for selling alcohol and shipping abroad are something to check with a local professional.
Real estate and new builds for buyers abroad
Lisbon, Porto and the Algarve see plenty of new builds and renovations sold to buyers who live in another country and decide from a distance. A brochure with renderings isn't enough: they need to understand the real size, the light and the view.
That's why I built Recorrido 3D, interactive 3D walkthroughs that help sell homes before they exist; its blog has a piece on 3D renderings and walkthroughs in Portugal. If what you need is to keep listings and leads organized, see real estate agency software.
Manufacturers: furniture, modular homes and structures
Northern Portugal has a long tradition in furniture and woodwork, and across the country there are modular and timber home builders who also sell to the rest of Europe. For them, a 3D configurator lets the customer design the piece or the home on the website and send the order with every dimension, without needing someone who speaks their language on the phone.
I explained it in custom furniture configurator, and the Estructuras 3D blog has a piece on modular home 3D configurators in Portugal.
What each type of business usually needs
| Business | The recurring problem | Where to start |
|---|---|---|
| Holiday rental or guesthouse | Every booking goes through a platform | Multilingual website of your own |
| Surf school or tour operator | Spots handled in loose messages | Date calendar with a request form |
| Wine estate | Visits and tastings in a messy schedule | Visit bookings and a simple store |
| Developer or real estate agency | Buyers deciding from abroad | 3D walkthrough and a project website |
| Manufacturer | Inquiries with no dimensions, in other languages | 3D configurator that sends a complete order |
Working with me remotely
Mainland Portugal is 3 or 4 hours ahead of Argentina, depending on the time of year. We meet over video in your afternoon, which is my morning, and whatever you ask for one day is ready to review from a link the next.
The process: a first call in English or Spanish, a written proposal split into stages, progress you sign off on before we move on, and everyday contact on WhatsApp or email. You send photos, copy (plus the Portuguese version if you want one) and how you sell today; I hand over the website or system up and running, with a dashboard so you can manage it yourself. More in working with a remote developer.
For invoicing, cookies or data protection, check with a local professional.
Frequently asked questions
Do you work in Portuguese?
No, I work in English and Spanish. If your site needs a Portuguese version, you or a translator provide the copy, and I build the site so each language has its own version and shows up properly on Google.
What's the time difference between Portugal and Argentina?
Lisbon is 3 or 4 hours ahead of Buenos Aires, depending on the time of year. My morning lines up with your afternoon: a 2 p.m. meeting in Lisbon is 10 or 11 a.m. for me.
What about invoicing and data protection?
Portugal has its own invoicing rules and applies European data protection law. What applies to your business is worth checking with your accountant or a local professional; I adapt the website or system to whatever they tell you.
Can I work with you if I'm a foreigner running a business in Portugal?
Yes. Plenty of owners in Lisbon or the Algarve would rather work in English, and that's fine. Meetings, the proposal and progress updates happen in whichever language you're most comfortable with.
If you run a business in Lisbon, Porto, the Algarve, Madeira or anywhere in Portugal, message me on WhatsApp at +54 9 11 6193-3176 or email contacto@facundocampo.com.ar. I answer in English and Spanish and quote each project separately. You can also use the [contact page](/en/contacto).
