The Nordics have two things going for them that suit the way I work. Business runs comfortably in English and remote work is normal. And there's a deep culture of building in wood: houses, holiday cabins, saunas, garden buildings. Exactly the kind of product that sells better when the buyer can design it in 3D.
Timber and prefab homes: let buyers choose before they call
The region has plenty of timber home manufacturers selling catalog models with options: floor area, number of bedrooms, roof, cladding, facade color. Buyers often browse for a long time before they get in touch, and when they do, they ask about combinations your sales team has to walk through one at a time.
A 3D configurator lets them try those combinations on their own, see the finished house and send you a complete order. I covered the idea in modular home configurator. Holiday cabins: stuga, hytte, mökki, sommerhus
Every country has its own word for the summer cabin (stuga in Sweden, hytte in Norway, mökki in Finland, sommerhus in Denmark), and in all of them it's part of everyday life. Manufacturers sell cabins as kits or turnkey builds, and the buyer wants to see theirs with the porch, the loft or the sauna they have in mind.
A cabin configurator lets them pick the size, porch, roof and finishes, and you receive an order you can price without the back-and-forth. I wrote specifically about 3D configurators for cabins in the Nordic countries on the Estructuras 3D blog.
Saunas, sheds and garden buildings
The sauna is close to an institution, especially in Finland, and there are makers selling outdoor saunas, barrel saunas and sauna cabins with lots of options for size, wood and stove. Sheds and garden buildings are the same story. They're products with few parts and many combinations, which makes them ideal for letting the buyer build their own.

A real case: Estructuras 3D, my demo configurator
I don't have clients in the Nordics. To show manufacturers what their own configurator could look like, I built Estructuras 3D, a demo 3D configurator for sheds, carports, steel buildings, horse stalls and modular homes. Working with me remotely
Sweden, Norway and Denmark are 4 to 5 hours ahead of Argentina, depending on the time of year, and Finland is one hour further ahead. When I start at 9 a.m. in Buenos Aires, it's 1 or 2 p.m. in Stockholm, Oslo or Copenhagen: we talk during your afternoon and I keep working after your office has closed.
Nordic companies tend to decide as a team and write a lot down, and that works well for me: every update goes out by link and in writing, so whoever needs a say can look at it and comment before it's approved. You send models, dimensions, rules and copy; you get a working configurator or website and a dashboard to run it. I go through the process in working with a remote developer.

Frequently asked questions
Do you work in Swedish, Norwegian, Danish or Finnish?
No, I work in English and Spanish. Most Nordic companies are comfortable working in English; your team provides the local-language versions and I build the site or configurator so they sit side by side.
What's the time difference?
Sweden, Norway and Denmark are 4 to 5 hours ahead of Argentina, depending on the time of year; Finland is one hour more. My mornings overlap with your afternoons, and anything you send in the evening is answered by the next morning.
Can the configurator send orders into our system?
Often, yes. We work it out at the start: where the order needs to land (email, CRM, business software) and with what data. If connecting them isn't worth it, the order still arrives complete by email or as a PDF.
What about data protection?
Sweden, Denmark and Finland follow EU rules, and Norway applies equivalent ones. Check with a local professional; I build the software to meet whatever they specify.
