3D configurator for manufacturers in Mexico: industrial buildings, steel structures and furniture
A 3D configurator lets the customers of a Mexican manufacturer design their industrial building, steel structure or furniture on a phone and send a quote request with every dimension filled in. I build them remotely from Argentina, and I have a real one in production.

A 3D configurator for a manufacturer in Mexico does one very specific job: your customer builds what they want to buy (an industrial building, a steel canopy, a structure, custom furniture) on their phone, sees it in 3D and sends you a quote request with every dimension and option filled in. You stop chasing details, and your sales team handles complete requests.
I build these remotely from Argentina, and it isn't theory: I have a real one in production and a demo of my own you can try. This piece is for owners, sales managers and US partners of Mexican manufacturers who want buyers on both sides of the border to show up with their project already defined.
Industrial buildings and steel structures in Monterrey and the Bajío
Monterrey and the Bajío region (Querétaro, Guanajuato, Aguascalientes, San Luis Potosí) are home to industrial parks that keep expanding as companies move production closer to the US. That drives a lot of construction: plants, warehouses and canopies.
The headache for the companies building those structures is familiar: an email arrives saying “I need a quote for a building” and nothing else. Then comes the back and forth about span, height, roofing panels, doors and ventilation. With a configurator, the buyer sets all of that on screen and shows up with the request ready. I cover the idea in 3D configurator for metal building companies, and the Estructuras 3D blog has a piece on 3D configurators for industrial buildings in Mexico.
Furniture: size, wood and finishes chosen by the buyer
Jalisco is known for its furniture industry, and across Mexico there are factories and workshops making kitchens, closets and custom pieces. The usual question there is “does it come in another color?” or “will it fit this space?”. A configurator lets the customer change size, wood, color and hardware, and see the result before ordering. More in custom furniture configurator and kitchen and closet configurator.
Prefab homes, domes and glamping
Prefab homes, cabins and glamping domes in tourist areas are another growing line. Buyers want to see how many bedrooms fit, what the terrace looks like and how each finish changes the result. The Estructuras 3D blog covers both: prefab and modular home configurator in Mexico and domes, cabins and glamping.
A real case: EQUIBOX, a horse stall manufacturer in Argentina
EQUIBOX builds horse stalls and barns in Berazategui, near Buenos Aires. I built their 3D quote configurator: customers design the barn (dimensions, model, walls, accessories), download the spec sheet or quote as a PDF and request pricing over WhatsApp. The company has a CRM and sales reps who receive those requests already complete. Different product, same logic as a steel building or a kitchen: the customer defines it, the rep closes it.
See the EQUIBOX caseWhat the configurator fixes in each industry
| Industry | The usual inquiry | What arrives with a configurator |
|---|---|---|
| Industrial buildings and warehouses | “I need a quote for a building” | Span, height, panels, doors and location |
| Canopies and structures | Photos with no dimensions | Dimensions, roof type and use |
| Furniture and kitchens | “Does it come in another color?” | Size, wood, color and hardware |
| Prefab homes and domes | “How much is a house?” | Model, bedrooms and finishes |
Dealers, trade shows and sales reps
Many Mexican manufacturers sell through dealers in other states, or through partners in Texas and the rest of the US. A shared configurator means everyone presents the product the same way and sends orders in the same format; I explain it in dealer network 3D configurator. It also works at a trade show booth: visitors design their model on a tablet and leave with a quote request. To see it in action, try my demo Estructuras 3D, with sheds, canopies, industrial buildings, horse stalls and modular homes.
How we work
We start with a video call where you walk me through your products, your options and how you quote today. I send a written proposal in stages. You share drawings, photos, catalogs and the list of options; I send progress links you can open on your phone and approve before we move on. Argentina is three hours ahead of Mexico City, so your morning is my midday. We can talk in English while the configurator speaks Spanish to your Mexican buyers, or both languages if you sell into the US. For invoicing or the customer data the configurator collects, check with a local accountant or lawyer.
Frequently asked questions
Does the configurator show the final price?
It can show a reference price or none at all: your call. Many manufacturers prefer that buyers design the model and get the formal quote from a rep, since freight and installation vary by state and site.
Can my dealers in other states, or in the US, use it?
Yes. It can be set up for your dealer network, with each dealer's own contact details, so everyone sells with the same tool and the same information.
Does it work on the buyer's phone?
Yes. It's designed for phones first, since that's where most buyers open it: from an ad, a WhatsApp link or a QR code on a trade show flyer.
How do we handle the time difference?
Argentina is three hours ahead of Mexico City and Monterrey, and two to three hours ahead of Texas depending on the time of year. Video calls fit easily into a shared workday, and the rest happens over WhatsApp.
